Anike Treats Her Fans to Single 'HAVE FUN' Ahead of Self-Titled Album 'Anike'

Aug 29 2024

Anike’s self-titled debut ushers in a new era for the bridge-building Christian rap artist. Ahead of the monumental album’s release, Anike has made standout track “HAVE FUN” an instant grat single for her dedicated fan base.

After five years since her debut, Anike, formerly known as Wande, returns with her sophomore self titled LP. As fans eagerly await her debut under new name “Anike”, she unveils “HAVE FUN” early for her devout fans. Supporters can access the single by pre-ordering the Anike album. “HAVE FUN” is sure to emerge as an early fan-favorite, with Anike flexing her signature flow and incorporating a fresh melodic sound. Always ahead of the times, Anike’s futuristic approach to Christian hip hop shines through in this record.

Anike's upcoming self-titled LP is set to release in full on August 30, 2024, and is a powerful journey of surrender, restoration, and breakthrough. Over the past four years, she has faced numerous challenges that tested her resolve both personally and as an artist. Confronting deep-seated insecurities and severe physical manifestations of stress and anxiety, Anike has emerged stronger and more inspired. During this transformative period, she announced a name change from “Wande” to “Anike,” a Yoruba name meaning someone you cherish, care for, love, and don’t take for granted.

The album includes familiar voices such as label-mates Hulvey, Lecrae, WHATUPRG, and Limoblaze, along with fresh collaborators like Terrain, Lee Vasi, and DOE. The album’s focus track “YAHWEH” brings praise and pep over a Jersey beat featuring Porsha Love, a follow up to their successful 8M+ streamed 2021 single “Don’t Worry Bout It.” As the first female Christian rapper to tour with icons like Lecrae and collaborate with artists like TobyMac, Anike has been a groundbreaking presence in the industry. She has been featured on GRAMMY-nominated projects and Billboard's #1 album "The Mav Way," and her contributions have been recognized by influential figures like Michelle Obama and Kirk Franklin.
