CJ Prather Releases Soulful Christian Single 'This Hallelujah'
CJ Prather, a singer-songwriter from a small town in North Georgia, releases her debut Southern soulful Christian single, 'This Hallelujah'.
"'This Hallelujah' is a declaration of bold, unwavering faith. It was born out of struggle-written in a moment when praising God felt almost impossible", CJ explains. "But even in the midst of the storm, I was reminded that His goodness isn’t based on my circumstances. He is good, always. And that truth is worthy of praise, no matter what. My prayer is that this song inspires you to lift your hallelujah with courage and conviction every single day-never allowing anything to break your hallelujah."
CJ Prather's irst stage was her living room and her microphone was a Hannah Montana karaoke machine. Music runs deep in her family-her dad taught her to play guitar, her mom taught her to sing, and Sunday mornings were spent singing in church pews.
For years, her weekends were filled with playing at small, local bluegrass festivals, and car rides were soundtracked by southern rock bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Marshall Tucker Band. While she always felt a calling to pursue music, it wasn’t until college in Nashville, Tennessee, that she felt a deeper pull-to grow in her relationship with the Lord. That hunger inspired a shift in focus from country to Christian music.
Now, CJ is bringing her unique blend of soulful melodies, and southern rock influences to the Christian music scene. With a style that bridges the gap between contemporary Christian and classic southern sounds, she’s carving out a space that feels fresh, authentic, and powerful. CJ’s passion for worship is evident in every song she writes and leads, and her voice is one that not only connects with listeners but stirs their hearts.
She soon began leading worship at her church and fell in love with sharing the Gospel through song. Her heart has been on fire for this ministry ever since.
