Interview: Colton Harris

Aug 22 2025

Young singer/songwriter Colton Harris talks to Louder Than The Music about his new single, 'Come On In', and his plans to release further music in the near future.

For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?

I’m 15 years old, I’m from London, KY. I attend Faith Assembly of God Church. London is a farming community, which is my family background. I enjoy going to concerts, fishing, playing video games, the beach and traveling. I always enjoyed music from an early age. I felt a connection with wanting to have music as part of my life.

Tell us about your new single 'Come On In' and what the inspiration behind it was?

It’s about someone who has a sinful life and full of doubt. It’s about them having a life changing experience and finding God. Then, becoming a messenger of God’s word and changing other people’s lives. It’s about knowing Jesus, and understanding that life is still hard but he’s still with you.

Do you have any plans to release more music in the near future?

Yes, I have two other songs produced and ready for release. I’m working on a music video for “Come On In”, also writing on several others to record at the Studio.

What message would you like people to take from your music?

The message I would like people to take from my music is God is Good all the time, life is hard but he’s with you no matter what. No matter who you are or what you have done, he loves you.

How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?

My style of music is Country Christian, with Appalachian roots. Some of my biggest influences in music are My producer, Cody McCarver, Sawyer Brown, Ben Fuller, Zach Williams, Casting Crowns and Morgan Wallen.

If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?

If I could work with any songwriter it would be Cody McCarver. Because he understands the style of music I like to sing, and he has an amazing catalog himself.

How would you define success in your career as an artist?

Just getting to play on stages for people and spread God’s word.

What is your favorite album of all time?

Dangerous by Morgan Wallen. I’ve seen him in concert several times, and he puts on a great show.

You're stuck on an island, it's hot, you only have enough battery life left to listen to one song on your phone. What track is it?

I have a lot of favorites, but if I had to choose one it would be “Nobody” by Casting Crowns.

What does the next year hold for you?

I’m currently working on a music video for “Come On In”. I’m continuing to write songs. I’m appearing at some shows for the ICMA. I’m also performing at the Grand Ole Opry next Spring.
