collect.assembly Releases Debut Album 'Outlaw Gospel'

Sep 17 2025

collect.assembly blends an outlaw energy with gospel truth, crafting songs that speak to faith, and redemption, through real-life experiences. Their song 'Walk With Me' was picked up by Angel Studios for the trailer for The Last Rodeo.

Formed in 2024 in the prairies of Canada, the band has built a loyal following through their electrifying live shows and authentic songwriting. Their latest album Outlaw Gospel (July 25, 2025) pushes the boundaries of Christian music, merging Americana, folk-rock, and alt-country influences. With singles like The Lord’s Prayer and Walk With Me, collect.assembly is redefining what it means to worship with boldness.

"Our debut album Outlaw Gospel, is a story of a heart’s journey from resistance and rebellion to surrender and renewal", explains the group. "It reminds us that, through Christ, we are pursued relentlessly, restored fully, and called to live purposefully in the light of His love. It is a gospel that transforms, heals, and invites us into the greatest love story ever told."

"'Walk With Me Lord, save me'. That was all Peter could say as he began to sink. Not a grand, faith-filled declaration, just three desperate and honest words. We want to trust Jesus. We really do. We want to step out of the boat, to walk with Him in full confidence, to keep our eyes on Him and not waver. But the truth is, we get scared. Not just of what’s around us, but of what’s inside us. The storm we can’t calm. The Story Behind the SongThis song, “Walk With Me,” came from that place. Not from a mountaintop moment, but from a deep, personal wrestling. We had been carrying so much
inside. We felt stuck in our own minds, wanting so badly to break free, but not knowing how.

Then we watched the episode of The Chosen, where they portrayed Peter walking on the water. But this time, it wasn’t about the miracle. It was about
Peter’s heart. He was grieving. He was exhausted. He felt like he had failed Jesus. And yet, when the storm hit, Jesus came to him anyway. Not to scold him, not to fix him, but to call him out into something deeper.

That image stayed with us, especially as we were simultaneously listening to The Bible Project and their series on what the bible says about water representing chaos throughout Scripture. Water is often a symbol for the dark unknown, the uncontrollable, the fear and evil that threaten to undo us. In Genesis, God hovers over the chaotic waters. In Exodus, He makes a path through them. And in the Gospels, Jesus walks on them."
