TobyMac Releases Christmas Single As 'Tonight' Gets Grammy Nomination

Dec 03 2010

With Christmas just three weeks away, TobyMac has released his first Christmas song in 8 years with the brand new track 'Christmas This Year'. Available now at iTunes (US and UK), 'Christmas This Year' features one of TobyMac's favorite vocalists, Sixpence None The Richer's Leigh Nash.

Talking about the season and what it was like making the song, TobyMac said, "Christmas is the most celebrated time of the year for my family. While we were recording the song, we had a week-long Christmas party at my house...in JULY! I wanted to write a song that captured that pure delight without missing the spirit of the season... when love came down to let us live."

The single release caps a superb week for the multi-platinum selling artist as he received his seventh solo Grammy Award nomination for 'Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album' for his recent studio album 'Tonight'. "I Love what I do," says TobyMac. "I love making records with my friends. Painstaking at times, but always passionate. A Grammy nom for 'Tonight' is humbling, exciting and truly an honor. It really is!" Having already won five Grammy Awards in his career, TobyMac will discover in February if he has increased that haul further.
