Survivor Celebrating 15 Years
It's been 15 years since the launch of the Survivor Records label, but now it reaches it's final chapter. It's been an amazing last 15 years for the label which has overseen some of the biggest Christian albums released in those years.
The label has been home to some of the most well known worship leaders of this generation, with an amazing long list of talented songwriters including Matt Redman, Brenton Brown, Tim Hughes, One Hundred Hours, Yfriday, Tree63, Soul Survivor, Vicky Beeching, Ben Cantelon and Lex Buckley to name just a few.
Over the last decade and a half since it's launch the label that started out as a project to support emerging artists has grown, strong, loud and proud. The label decided to release some of the best songs it has had the honor of releasing onto a 15 track compilation album called Survivor 15 Years.
Choosing 15 songs from an amazing back catalogue is no easy task, but I think the choices for this album are spot on. Opening with one of the biggest songs of the last few years Happy Day by Tim Hughes and ending with the amazing Onehundredhours All I Am Lord, thrown in the middle are Brenton Brown's Hosanna and Vicky Beeching's Extravagant Worship, this is a very good compilation album.
It's been a wonderful time for Survivor Label, release after release of albums that have impacted the church and had an effect on a generation of young people, who from those releases are more into worshiping God through music than ever before. Thank you Survivor for all you have done, they now firmly pass the baton onto Kingsway, who I'm sure will do as good a job as Survivor did.
