Aug 04 2011

Muyiwa & Riversongz, described as the UK's most prized Gospel asset, will headline the annual Celebration of Life concert at London's Royal Festival Hall on 14th October 2011. Presented by the Metropolitan Black Police Association, the event brings an amazing array of music and entertainment, highlighting the MetBPA's 'Revival' initiative, which works directly with London communities to address and reduce violent crime, particularly amongst young people.

Headlining this year's event is the spectacular Muyiwa & Riversongz, whose uplifting and inspiring music combines gospel with the vibrant rhythms of AfroBeat as well as modern grooves from the worlds of soul, R&B and pop, as showcased on his new album 'Declaring His Name All Around The World', released later this month. He is widely respected as one of the international gospel scene's true heavyweights, and as well as having a solid fanbase in the Christian community, Muyiwa's thrilling fusion of global sounds has attracted a huge following in the mainstream.

The Lifeforce Band will open the concert with a lively set featuring a range of special guest performers. Overseeing the evening's proceedings will be comedian Felix Dexter from BBC 2's The Fast Show.
