Popular Bands Dweeb & Bosh Both Bow Out With Final Concerts
Two British bands both said goodbyes with farewell concerts in their respective hometowns on Friday night, 2nd September 2011. [dweeb] played their final show in Coventry after nearly nine years together, whilst coincidentally on the same night Bosh began an indefinite hiatus following their goodbye concert in Bournemouth.
"Bye, and thanks. Follow your passion over fashion and bless bless bless" wrote Bosh on Twitter shortly after their show. The band recently announced that they "are ready for pastures new". Dave and Mike Griffiths, the brothers at the core of the band, will now pursue other musical projects. "We've been BOSH man and boy and we're feeling called to new musical priorities" said Dave. "We can look back with pride at what we've done, and look ahead with excitement to what we are called to next".
Meanwhile [dweeb] also said their goodbyes on Twitter. "And so [dweeb] is no more. Thank you so much to everyone who came to #TheFinalShow, you made it a perfect farewell. What an amazing night! And if you have been part of our journey in any way, big or small, we thank you - we could not have done it without you. Goodbye." Tim Alford, dweeb's lead singer, added the following day, "Well last night was really, truly amazing. Thank you so much to everyone who travelled and made it such a special night."
In an exclusive guest blog for Louder Than The Music, Tim Alford wrote: "After so many years it does feel strange to end, but we do all feel that it's the right time. We have devoted nine years of our lives to this - and grown from teenagers to adults in the process. It has been a privilege and an honour to make music that has made a difference in people's lives. So there's a sense of sadness, but of peace as well. It's been an incredible adventure, and we will always be grateful to our fans for joining in with us."
[dweeb] released their 'Feels Like Dynamite' album in 2010 as the follow up to 2007's 'It Came From Outer Space!'. Bosh's notable releases include 2009's 'The Gloaming Hour' and 2008's 'Sound The Alarms'. Earlier this year the two bands paths intertwined as they joined forces on charity album 'Fruit Tree' which raised funds for Trussell Trust and I*EAT.
LTTM wishes both bands every success in their future ventures.
