Third Day Release New Album 'Miracle' Following Performance On Tonight Show With Jay Leno
Four-time Grammy Award-winning rock band Third Day release their sixteenth album, 'Miracle' today, 6th November 2012. The band launched the album with a performance on leading US TV show 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' on Friday, playing the album's powerful opening track 'Hit Me Like a Bomb'.
"With veteran producer Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Train, The Killers) at the helm, Miracle is a 12-track simmering brew of potent rock anthems infused with the substantive, life-affirming lyrics that have always been the bedrock of Third Day's music", describes Provident Label Group.
Third Day explores new sonic and lyrical territory on 'Miracle', with layered guitars, harmonies and sing-along gang vocals not heard from the band previously.
"These songs are engaging musically and lyrically; we worked hard to stretch ourselves for the people who come to our shows and buy our music" says drummer David Carr. "We poured so much into this record because we wanted to bring our fans our very best. We are proud of Miracle and can't wait for people to hear it."
Third Day will hit the road again this spring to headline 'The Miracle Tour', a 45-city trek featuring American Idol finalist Colton Dixon and singer-songwriter Josh Wilson as special guests. The tour launches on 21st February 2013 in Fairfax, Va, and will hit major markets like Memphis, Dallas, Birmingham, Atlanta, Nashville, Indianapolis, Grand Rapids, Chicago and many more before wrapping up in mid-May.
The band recorded the new album in their own state-of-the art studio, The Quarry, in Atlanta. Mac Powell, the band's front man, shares, "Our time with Brendan has been nothing less than an amazing experience. He is one of my favorite producers. Having made so many great records with so many amazing artists through the years, I consider it such an honor to be working with him. Brendan has definitely stretched me as a songwriter and vocalist more than any other producer ever has."
The new project follows a highly successful 2011 for Third Day, which included being the first Christian artist ever to receive ASCAP's coveted Vanguard Award. The group's previous album, 'Move' reached number 9 in the main Billboard 200 album chart in 2010.
