Worship Central Top UK's Christian Chart With 'Let It Be Known'
The new live album from Worship Central, titled 'Let It Be Known', has topped the UK's new Official Christian & Gospel Albums Chart. Released last week, the album was recorded live in London last autumn and features worship leaders Tim Hughes, Ben Cantelon, Nikki Fletcher and Luke Hellebronth.
During it's release week the album reached as high as number 15 on iTunes' overall album chart. It ended the week at number 33 on the overall UK Album Downloads chart and number 45 on the overall UK Albums chart.
Worship Central are currently in the middle of an eight-date UK tour, with dates this week in Cambridge, Manchester, Sheffield, Edinburgh and Belfast.
Based out of London's Holy Trinity Brompton Church (HTB), 'Let It Be Known' is their third worship album and second live recording. Produced by Cantelon and written by the team at HTB, along with its extended family that includes Martin Smith, Matt Redman and others, the album highlights the passionate worship of HTB.
"We love recording live albums", explained Tim Hughes in an interview with Louder Than The Music. "There's something raw and alive about singing these songs with thousands of people joining together. We may do a studio album at some point, but for now we're excited about capturing live worship. We feel we're only just getting going!"
Capturing the heart cry of the church, the album features the title track and video that can be seen below, as well as 'Dry Bones' and the new anthem, 'Our Generation'.
The online worship course that Worship Central has made available free of charge since last year has seen 1,255 courses running in over 60 nations, more than 18,000 worshippers around the world having already participated. Through the Worship Central Course, there are now hubs in Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Singapore, Malaysia and South Africa - each devoted to empowering, equipping and releasing others to strengthen their own church's worship life.
