Kings College Choir Dominate Compassion's UK Official Christian & Gospel Albums Chart

Dec 31 2013

The Choir from Kings College Cambridge has dominated 2013's final UK Official Christian & Gospel Albums Chart, which is produced in partnership with Compassion.

The final weekly album chart of the year features no fewer than 7 entries from Kings College Choir in the Top 10, the first time in the chart's history that one artist has appeared so many times in the same week.

Topping the chart for a fourth straight week is 'Essential Carols', an album first released more than a decade ago, but still consistently selling well over the Christmas period.

Also featured in the chart this week are Kings College Choir's albums such as 'Carols From Kings' and 'Christmas At Kings', including several different label releases of the same recordings.

King's College Choir comprises 16 boy choristers, aged between nine and 13 years, and 14 male undergraduates, reading for degrees in a variety of subjects. There are also two organ scholars. Its primary purpose is to sing the daily choral services in Chapel during term-time.
