David Dunn has released his debut EP on BEC Recordings, titled 'Crystal Clear'. The singer's debut has been a long time coming as music had always been a hobby of his before he started pursuing it full-time. As a student at Texas Tech University, where he majored in engineering, he was an honors student who moonlighted as a singer/songwriter, playing the local acoustic scene in Lubbock. During his last year at Texas Tech, he recorded his first full-length album before heading to Africa for 13 months of humanitarian and missions work.

This album is a very enjoyable listen, and the one thing I loved the most was his voice. The way David delivers the words is totally unique to himself, yet he also draws you in. It's like he welcomes you into his home for a cuppa and a chat.

Musically at times the EP sounds like something you would hear from rock band The Script. The drumming and overall sound has that kind of feel to it, especially 'Have Everything'. This song would sound brilliant at a festival as the sun is setting on a wonderful day hanging out with friends.

I love the catchy-ness of the chorus on Today Is Beautiful, I love the overall soft-tempo dance inspired sound of Nothing Left, and I just love everything about the ballad Six (Waiting For Love). The delivery of the last track on the EP makes it an absolute stunner. But then there isn't much not to love about this collecting of songs to be honest!

As with most EP's, they just end too soon. I can't wait to hear more from David, and I could listen to his voice singing again and again. You could probably hear him sing the menu at a restaurant and you would think that it all sounds good. Before you think my obsession with this man's voice has gone overboard, have a listen, I hope you will enjoy the sound as well. Musically great, lyrically good, creatively interesting, there is so much to enjoy on this debut collection.
