God Of This City - Bluetree Debut Album Re-Released
Belfast-based worship band Bluetree are having their spectacular debut album re-titled, repackaged and re-released in the UK. 'God Of This City' is released today, 19th June, by Survivor Records.
Says Jonathan Brown at Kingsway: "Bluetree's debut wasn't just a hit over in the US; it was an absolute sensation. It held the top spot of the US Christian Retailing chart for four consecutive weeks and has helped the band become the biggest selling new artist of the year. Over there the album's been released with a different name and design. While we went for the original title 'Greater Things', it was the team in the US that made the smart move and renamed it 'God Of This City'".
Bluetree's history began back in 2006 with a mission trip to Thailand, and kicked into gear when one night leading worship in the midst of lap-dancers, prostitutes and sex tourists gave birth to an incredible anthem of hope, transformation and eternally-minded perception. Since then the song 'God Of This City' has ignited like a wildfire all over the globe. It became the anthem for the 2008 Passion World Tour, and Chris Tomlin included a version on his best-selling album 'Hello Love'.
Having spent time in Nashville during the GMA week - where the band gave dozens of interviews and electrified a crowd of specially invited guests for their one and only showcase gig - Bluetree are now dedicated to doing what they feel most passionate about; leading worship wherever there are worshippers ready to sing. Tours of the US, Europe and beyond are due to roll out throughout the rest of the year as Bluetree continue to grow and thrive.
