The Dave Ellis Releases New Double-Album

Mar 05 2015

The Dave Ellis, formerly known as Prodigal Son UK, has released his eagerly awaiting double album 'To Whom It May Concern / Yours Faithfully'. The Rap, Hip-Hop and R&B singer has enjoyed numerous media appearances, most recently his track 'You Deserve Better' was selected for airplay on BBC Introducing.

"My hope is that as people listen to my music I will paint a picture in their minds eye", he explains. "Behind each picture painted by my lyrics there is a story being told. Disc One is called 'To whom it may concern' because there is hopefully something on this album that will apply to everyone, as the opening track states, 'If the cap fits...'"

"I was recently listening to an interview with Lecrae about the recent success of his album ʻAnomalyʼ.

He was talking about how he does not see himself as a ʻChristian Rapperʼ but as a ʻRapper who is a Christianʼ, being a Christian does not exclude me from the challenges life throws our way, therefore, whilst some of my music on this album is explicitly gospel, most of it is simply storytelling, stories of life experience from different perspectives."

"It brings Christian values to the table for discussion, for you, the listeners, to question your own lives and experiences, hopefully leaving you with a thirst to know more about the person who is at the centre of my own life, Jesus. This is what the album is all about, reaching the city of Nottingham and beyond, to question life & its meaning, to hopefully leave you with some thoughts on the question, 'Is there more to life than this?'"

Dave Ellis has also been a support act for a number of the worlds leading Gospel Artists including Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Dawkins & Dawkins, Papa San, Carlene Davis, Stitchie, Junior Tucker, Chris Willis, and Trinitee 5;7.
