Nichole Nordeman Makes First Release In A Decade With 'The Unmaking'

Sep 03 2015

Multiple Dove award winner and songwriter Nichole Nordeman has released her anticipated brand new EP, The Unmaking, with Capitol CMG. This six-track project is Nordeman's first release since 2005's 'Brave' (Sparrow Records).

Each song found on The Unmaking was written with passion and hope during a challenging time for Nordeman. "Sometimes the hardest thing about being broken is standing still long enough to admit it," she shares.

"It is far easier to stay busy, to create distraction, continue to spin and build and whistle loudly over the sound of the crumbling core. These songs are what happened when I made myself stand still in my own debris and dust. Eventually what I heard in the dark was the sound of hope and beauty singing back to me."

The EP’s first single, "Name," will hit radio on September 11. She performed her new songs along with many of her hits this past weekend in Philadelphia at the Women of Faith Farewell Tour to more than 9,000 people.

In 2005, Brave debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Christian & Gospel Chart. Nordeman has had four No. 1 songs and seven Top 5 radio singles at Christian radio, including hits such as “Holy,” “Legacy” and “Brave.” Since then, Nordeman wrote and contributed 17 songs to the 2011 album Music Inspired By the Story, which debuted at No. 11 on Billboard’s Christian & Gospel Chart. In 2013, Nordeman contributed to My Hope: Songs Inspired By The Message And Mission Of Billy Graham.
