Dave Griffiths To Release First Full Length Solo Album 'Here & Now'
After a seven-track foray into a solo career in 2013, Dave Griffiths returns with his first full length album, 'Here & Now' on Friday 4th March.
Dubbed a 'seminal figure in the UK Christian music scene', Dave Griffiths has largely been making music within bands since the late 90’s. First came BOSH, formed around Dave and his drumming brother, Mike. Then came the highly acclaimed Chaos Curb Collaboration, making ‘groundbreaking’^ music for the church.
Born out of an intense time of challenge and change in his life, these eleven songs are a personal but not private journey of discovery. Uncovering deep mysteries about love, life and the nature of God, Dave has brought together all his many years writing and recording experience to make this album. Bringing together the surging guitar rock of BOSH, the ambient electronic basis of Chaos Curb Collaboration, and also exploring new, more rootsy and gospel-tinged territory, ‘Here & Now’ makes a strong solo career statement.
Working with close friends who have shared much of Dave’s musical journey so far, the album exhibits Dave’s ability to hold worship, testimony, reflection and celebration in equal tension. The album heavily features the guitar work of Marc James, of Verra Cruz renown, as well as exquisite backing vocals from Nashville-trained Matt Spracklen. Also making appearances are former members of BOSH and popular 00’s band, [dweeb], who also worked with Chaos Curb Collaboration plus Elim Sound member and respected worship leader Ian Yates.
Whilst Here & Now is definitely a debut album, there’s something of a rounding up of Dave’s eclectic and respected career so far. Having established himself as an in-demand co-writer and producer, Dave is ready to fully embrace the solo career, with a strong set of songs and an even stronger message of finding God always in the here and now.
