Justin Bieber Covers Delirious' 'I Could Sing of Your Love Forever' Live On Stage
Pop sensation Justin Bieber caused a stir this week when he performed an acoustic version of the Delirious worship song 'I Could Sing of Your Love Forever'.
The performance came during his Purpose Tour at a concert in The AccorHotels Arena, Paris, France on Tuesday, 20th September 2016, and footage of Bieber singing the song on stage with his guitar has been widely shared on social media today.
The song was written by Delirious lead singer Martin Smith in 1994, with the singer commenting on Twitter, "Ha! Justin Bieber rocking out one of my old tunes."
First appearing on the Delirious 'Cutting Edge' album in 1995, the song quickly became popular in churches around the world. In 2001 the band recorded a new version and released it as a single, reaching number 40 in the UK singles chart. Over the years the song has been covered by numerous Christian artists, but Bieber's cover this week is by far the most high profile cover.
Bieber rose to fame as a teen idol at 13, but by 2011 he was equally well known for his bad boy antics. But more recently he struck up a friendship with Hillsong New York pastors Carl Lentz and Judah Smith, and talked in a magazine interview of wanting to "live like Jesus".
