D. Oneil Releases 'Set Off The Fireworks' Ahead of Full-Length Project

Feb 15 2018

D. Oneil, an aspiring Christian Contemporary Indie artist and songwriter, has just released his latest single 'Set Off The Fireworks' ahead of his full-length album due in Spring 2018. He released his first single 'His Grace' in 2015, followed by 'The World Needs Love' in 2017.

"My full project is expected to come Spring 2018", confirmed D. Oneil. "Music has always been a part of my life even as a young child singing in church. As a teenager I took advantage of opportunities to perform on stage. My love for music led to me becoming classically trained to play the piano, a skill that I did not cultivate. I believe that it was this training that allowed me to understand and pick up the basics of music as if it were second nature to me. Also during this period in life I learned to play the saxophone while attending middle and high school. This too kept me in a position to allow music to be a critical part of my life.

It was as a young adult that I realized that God had given me my most prized gift. The gift of song. Gospel music became the genre of choice for me as I became more spiritually mature. During these years I had an awesome opportunity to sing with a traveling quartet group while also singing in the church choir. It was also during this time that I realized that I had some ability to write songs. Singing and songwriting are 2 specific things that get my musical juices flowing. The ironic thing so far about my writing is that the majority of songs that I write are what I'd consider Christian Contemporary not Gospel. I've developed a diverse taste for all sorts of music that help people exalt God.

Today I continue to sing and write. Although I've been recorded in past years, I was able to record my first single, a "hit single". It's a hit to me because I know it's God inspired and if it fails to bless anyone else, I know that it was written to bless my soul. My goal is to complete my first full project with the gifts that God has blessed me with. I'm very thankful that he has allowed others that have similar gifts to be a part of my life. I know that I'm on the road to musical success in God's eyes."
