Worship Leader Whitlee Casey Releases 'Mountains'
Whitlee Casey, a worship leader and songwriter from a town called Troy in Texas, has just released his new single 'Mountains'. Since his solo career started, Whitlee has had the honor to share the stage with some of today's best Christian talent, such as Seventh Day Slumber, We Are Messengers, Hollyn and Remedy Drive, and he will be touring with Justin Gambino this summer.
"Mountains was written at the end of this past January for a few friends my wife and I attend church with", explains Whitlee. "They lost 3 family members in a terrible house fire. I remember hearing the news for the first time and my heart just simply broke for them. I began to pray for them and family.
I remember saying “I don’t know why or how but I know you’ll pull them through this time of loss and heartache.” Within about 5 or 10 minutes I had a chorus written for a song I wanted to write for them, hoping it would bring peace and comfort in this time. By Saturday of that week I was performing this song for the first time at a church in El Paso, TX.
Since writing and performing this song across the state of Texas this year I’ve already seen God at work with this song. I’ll never forget this year’s Palm Sunday! I was performing a morning concert in Burnet, TX. A lady came to the service who was actually headed to a different church that morning. She saw two kids standing outside of the church I was performing at holding signs. Their signs said You Belong Here! She knew that was the Lord telling her that a message was waiting for her at this church that morning.
As I performed mountains she was sobbing and truly receiving what she needed that morning from the lord. She came up to me after the show and said she has had an alcohol addiction for the last 20+ years of her life. She recently applied for a Christian based recovery center and had been accepted. She said I HAVE CALLED ON JESUS AND NOW THROUGH HIM I AM CONQUERING MY MOUNTAIN!!
I Always find it amazing that God is willing to shows us that are mountains and battles can be conquered through Him not matter what situation we find ourselves in. We serve an amazing God!"
