Dave Pettigrew Releases 'Undertow' Single From 'Faith And Gasoline'

Aug 24 2018

New Jersey based independent artist Dave Pettigrew has released his new single 'Undertow' taken from the upcoming album 'Faith And Gasoline'. The song was produced by Scotty Wilbanks (Third Day, Newsong), mixed by Jon Kaplan (Zach Williams, Crowder, Passion, Gavin DeGraw) and mastered by Richard Dodd (Tom Petty, MercyMe, Matt Maher, Third Day). The song speaks of God's never ending love of us in the midst of the struggles of life. The powerful promise that He will never let us go.

Dave and his band have opened for and shared the stage with MercyMe, For King & Country, Jeremy Camp, Michael W. Smith, Phil Wickham, Rend Collective, Brandon Heath, Tenth Avenue North, Lincoln Brewster, Mark Schultz and more.. The band has toured with Brandon Heath, Paul Baloche, Kutless, Love & the Outcome, and the JJ Weeks Band.

His new release entitled 'Faith & Gasoline' was produced by hit-maker Scotty Wilbanks who has been the keyboardist and an integral part of the band Third Day for the past 20 years. This collection of songs takes Dave and his music to a new level. Partnering with Scotty on both songwriting & production, the songs forge a new path for the artist.

The title track is a reflection on his life on the road. “This ministry is powered by both my faith & love for God and the gasoline that we use to get from place to place. Every touring artist and ministry can relate to this phrase. We power our lives by our faith in the cross and the energy that God gives us every day.”

The artist continues to push deeper into the hearts of his listeners through regular nights of worship in and around the Northeastern United States. “The touring doesn’t stop, we want to reach more people with the message of hope that has taken over our ministry.”

The hope he speaks about is the artists’ creation of the “There Is Hope Movement”. Based on a song written for the 10th anniversary of September 11th, the song has turned into a rally cry for those dealing with addictions and those in recovery. The movement and has increased dramatically since the loss of dave’s nephew, Ryan, to a heroin overdose in his home in April 2017. “This has only increased our drive & desire to boldly speak about this epidemic in our country and change people’s lives through the hope that Jesus brings.”

The new album “Faith & Gasoline” features a new version of the song “There Is Hope” along with the stand out tracks “Love Is Here”, “Undertow” and “Why Won’t You Love Me.”

A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, with majors in music business and arranging, Dave’s quest for the creative took him to New York City where he ultimately ended up with more opportunities as a singer than his original plans as a sax player.

Dave is also a World Vision Artist. Using his music as a vehicle to speak on behalf of the poorest of the poor, each of his shows gives his audience the ability to sponsor a child and save a life. "The opportunity to bring hope to children you may never meet this side of heaven, this is what we’re trying to do. Let’s look beyond our own lives & desires and help others in need. Let’s bring hope to them."
