Valley of the Moon Releases 'Winter Songs' Christmas EP

Dec 20 2018

Bristol, UK, based Valley of the Moon have released a five-song Christmas EP titled 'Winter Songs' on independent label Resplendent Records. 'Revolution Song' from the EP is featured in a new lyric video (see below).

The album is a mash-up of softly-sung protest anthems, cut-ups from the bible and apocalyptic folk chants, delivered in a haze of crackly Spanish guitar, organ, synthesizer and drum machine. Originally recorded in the autumn of 2016, the songs have been remixed and remastered to allow as much space and loneliness to emerge as possible.

"This is a truly melancholy record, but not without moments of pure warmth and joy", explains Resplendent. "The EP was written to be listened to on tape in the darkest nights of the year, and we are delighted to make it our first release (digital / cassette, December 3rd 2018)."
