Highlands Worship Releases 'Jesus You Alone'

Feb 15 2019

With a passion to encourage congregational worship, create resources for churches and draw listeners closer to God, Highlands Worship releases a brand new, full band recording of 'Jesus You Alone' today (Feb. 15) with global distribution for the first time through The Fuel Music. Available now at iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon.com, Spotify and more digital retail and streaming outlets everywhere, the new single is from the worship ministry of Birmingham, AL-based Church of the Highlands, one of America’s largest churches.

Recorded at the church, produced by Highlands Worship’s Chris Griffin, mixed by Sam Gibson (Hillsong, Jesus Culture, Chris Tomlin) and co-written by Highlands Worship’s John Larson, Nicole McLean and Jesse Abram Reeves, the song is the title track to ministry’s third, full-length album, Jesus You Alone, slated to release March 1.

“In writing ‘Jesus You Alone,’ we were really inspired by King David and songs he wrote, and how in one moment he would be in the struggle, surrounded by enemies, and the next he was worshipping God, focused on the Lord, and his whole perspective would change,” shares McLean. “And that’s what we hope this song does…that no matter what is happening, we can settle in to the fact that Jesus is Lord. It’s Him alone. He is great, He is mighty and that changes everything.”

Holy, all the earth singing
Holy, all the angels cry
Holy, Jesus You alone
Worthy, all creation sings
Worthy, all the heavens
Exalt thee, Jesus You alone
Jesus, You alone
(From “Jesus You Alone” chorus.)

Along with the single, the “Jesus You Alone” video premieres today from Worship Musician at http://WMMag.info/JesusYouAlone. The video was produced by Dan Atchison, whose credits include the 2018 ACM Video of the Year (Thomas Rhett’s "Marry Me") and multiple CMT and Dove Awards-winning releases.

With over 900 active worship team members as well as 70 full or part-time musicians on staff, Highlands Worship is a collective of pastors, musicians, worship leaders and songwriters who serve every week at Church of the Highlands. Focusing on creating an experience where authentic, Holy Spirit-inspired worship connects people with the heart of God, the team is led by Worship Pastor John Larson, and is motivated by the core belief that just one second in the presence of God can change a life forever.

"Worship has been one of the central marks of Church of the Highlands since the beginning. This latest collection of Highlands Worship is the heart beat of our community,” shares Larson. “It’s not about us, it's about Jesus - and because of what He has done for us, we have a reason to sing."
