FoldingLights Set To Release 'Subterranean Hum' Album
Following a string of single releases this year, Belfast singer/songwriter Foldinglights is set to release his debut album on July 19th. Drawing influences from artists like Jon Foreman, Foy Vance and Glen Hansard, 'Subterranean Hum' fuses both electronic and acoustic instruments, to create a diverse and unique landscape perfectly held together by Michael's vulnerable heart wide-open lyrics, which he delivers here with passion and conviction throughout.
Says Michael, "This album was created as a complete story. It's a snapshot of my faith from a child to now. This is as honest as I've ever been. I see Subterranean Hum as the natural next step from my EP Exiles. Exiles driven underground. Exiles waiting. Exiles with a voice not yet silenced."
Pre-order on iTunes from July 10th and get 'Emmaus' straight away. The rest of the album will automatically appear in your iTunes account on release day.
Michael Peter Ball is the artist behind Foldinglights. Desperate to add some of his colours to the madness of this world, he writes with vulnerability, and straight from the heart honesty, about faith, love, death and everything in between. He has dedicated himself to crafting music that cuts straight to the centre of the soul.
Foldinglights is equally at home performing on the stages of music venues around his native Belfast as he is leading worship in his home church and has performed with many artists including Martin Smith, Audrey Assad and Sandra McCracken. He played his first London show at Camden’s famous “Hawley Arms’ venue in March 2018 with Tina Boonstra, and since then has gone on to play many of the summer festivals including Summer Madness and Creation Fest.
The 2017 EP ‘Exiles’ received glowing reviews with ‘Noose’ gaining airplay on BBC Radio Ulster, and ‘Fear The Night’ becoming a strong favourite on UCB radio while the video featured in heavy rotation on TBNUK’s television channel.
‘Exiles’ was followed up in 2019 with 4 single releases, also receiving positive reviews and heavy radio airplay. First single ‘Beauty Traded Places’ appeared on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday Christian’ playlist, ‘American Jesus’ on Free CCM’s ‘Coffeehouse’ playlist whilst ‘Perfect’ was selected on Spotify’s ‘An Alternative Eire’ playlist appearing alongside artists such as Two Door Cinema Club, Soak and Blue Americans.
