Starting off in the atmospheric world of worship music, this song goes from the cliché atmospheric verses and then big chorus to atmospheric and then back to big chorus and a reflective end. It does feel a bit like a paint by numbers worship song but here is why I actually really enjoyed this single and got into it.
It’s the lyrics, with the powerful opening words of "Let the heavens be open, Let Your fire fall on us, Spirit of God take over, Overflow and fill us up" is a wonderful stirring set of lyrics and with the melody and the passion, this is something truly uplifting.
I have to say, sadly, that the jump between vocalists on the one single can make it feel a bit disjointed but overall the song is a solid enough worship song. It’s a song about letting God's spirit wash over you and how important that is. For a second single from an album you can’t ask for much more than that.
