It only feels like 5 minutes ago we had Planetshakers releasing Rain in it's various EP parts, but now we have another batch of EP releases from the Australian Church outfit. What I found when I turned this EP on was the energy that smashed out of the speakers, for me 'How I Praise' is just full of creative energy, and the song 'Walls' has this creative modern pop sound that we have come to know from Planetshakers.

Now here is my only downside about this release, my only concern about Planetshakers isn’t the amazing music, it’s sometimes (and I mean only sometimes) lyrically they can fall into the cliche Christian lyrics trap. I suppose a lot of artists can fall into this, even when they don't expect it. Anyway back to the EP tracks, 'I Remember' builds up into a powerful worship track, it’s one of those songs to get lost in praise with. 'Can’t Take My Eyes Off You' (isn’t a cover of Frankie Vallis or Andy Williams 1967 track) is an intimate worship ballad that for me has a good melody - but melodically stays very simple in the chorus and I felt it had more places to go. The song ‘Overwhelmed’ is a continuous track from 'Can’t Take My Eyes Off You' which again is a strong song but needs more musical shade to it.

For an album that is recorded live it feels so musically full. As an EP, what I also enjoyed is how when the lead worship singer is singing it feels like everyone is singing with them, it’s not just one person up front singing it’s everyone together singing as a team as a collective in worship.

Glory part one kicks off 2020 beautifully. If you have listened to Planetshakers before you will know what you are getting here, full energy, full praise and a full live worship sound.
