Mark Tedder Releasing New Single 'Stay'

Feb 12 2020

Mark Tedder releases his new single 'Stay' on 14th February 2020 with 7Core Music. Inspired by the Psalms of the Bible and the Country Music he grew up with, Mark has recorded a collection of songs entitled 'Psalms, Sonnets and Meditations' due out on June 12th. 'Stay' is the third single release and most intimate track on the album.

A gentle rolling acoustic guitar, soon gives way to beautiful ambient violin and electric guitar swells. Mark’s smooth velvetesque vocal delivery pulls the listener right in to the heart of the song.

"Insecurity is real. How many times have you been in a situation where you really needed a mate, friend or family member to not leave, just to stay a little longer?

I remember the passing of my parents. Sixty-eight years of marriage and they couldn’t live a day without one another. That “call” came in the middle of the night while we were in Cuba. I felt an overwhelming sense of insecurity. I couldn’t move! The Mother who cuddled me as an infant had slipped away. The Father who tucked me in bed as a child was now gone. I felt empty, lonely, fearful, and confused - I just wanted to see them one more time.

Psalm 27 comforts us with the words that the Lord will hide us, keep us and hear our cries."

Mark has been making music most of his life. From those early years in Arkansas in the southern United States as a 5 year old, banging on the drums, music has always played an important role for him. Looking back in the rear view mirror, Mark and his wife, Carrie have been planet-hopping most of their lives from the age of 20. They started an international worship-equipping mission called Worshiplanet, which saw them, travel to over 40 nations training worship leaders and worship teams.

They’ve lived in the UK, Russia, Czech Republic and China. Their music has opened doors for them in North Korea, Tibet, Mongolia and throughout Northern Africa, Asia and the European Continent. Mark & Carrie have two sons and 7 grandchildren. These days they grow coffee on their farm on the Big Island of Hawaii and continue to write songs and travel the world.
