LeRae Finds Strength In Heartfelt New Single 'My Way To Hope'
Philadelphia songwriter and performer LeRae is a gifted artist whose music career has spanned over 30 years. Today, she shares the uplifting new single "My Way to Hope" out now on renowned vocalist/songwriter Martha Wash's Purple Rose Records. The powerful and inspiring song shares a message of hope and positivity to all. “I believe that I was born to be an educator, musician, and exhorter; someone who encourages, inspires, uplifts and empowers others,” says LeRae.
Fostering a love of God, music, and singing at the age of three, LeRae sharpened her vocal skills by performing at family gatherings using a hairbrush as a microphone. Later, she performed for various functions throughout the Philadelphia area. Also, a trained dancer, LeRae’s career in entertainment began when she choreographed some of the movements used by the renowned group Sister Sledge in the late 1970s and traveled with the group across the United States. Once off the road, LeRae decided to become an educator and worked as a teacher and administrator in Philadelphia for over 30 years.
LeRae returned to music during the late 1990s as the lead singer in the band Caught in the Act (CIA) and participated in several recording projects with various local artists for a number of years. In 2011, LeRae’s musical journey led her to become the newest member of The Ritchie Family, one of classic disco music’s most popular girl groups. She is honored to be a member of this acclaimed ensemble, which has afforded her the opportunity to perform all around the country and Europe.
In 2017, LeRae decided to branch out and work on a solo project. This led her to collaborate with songwriter, producer, and singer Zach Adam. Together, they wrote a beautiful song of encouragement entitled “My Way to Hope,” a composition that embodies the human spirit.
“It is truly my passion and my joy. Whether through song, words of wisdom, mentorship or support, my ministry in life is to touch as many lives as possible. Throughout my 34 years as an educator, I have used the struggles and lessons learned in my spiritual walk to help impact lives. I can only hope that God continues to allow me to do His work for many years to come.
“I believe that God is my Strength, My Keeper and at the center of my being,” the singer adds. “One of the things that I came to realize is that church is not a building, but a state of mind and a condition of the heart. In other words, we are the church. In support of those beliefs, I am extremely excited to be embracing my love of music once again in my life. I believe music is indeed the universal language of mankind, and it is my pleasure to share the themes and messages that are important to me with the world.”
