We see right away in the bible from Genesis 3, the deceiving nature of Satan. One of his labels is the deceiver of the whole world. He only comes to steal, to kill and destroy, but Jesus has come that we might have life and have it more abundantly.

Satan deceives us by using the pleasures of this world as an entrapment. Nevertheless, through Jesus Christ we find the way, the truth and the life. In Him is no darkness. In Him is no evil and it is He who leads us in the way everlasting.
