Gather Williams II Releases Timely New Single 'This Too Shall Pass'
International Recording Artist and Songwriter Gather Williams II, has released his powerful and timely new single 'This Too Shall Pass', a song that encourages listeners during these trying times. The Video to the song, has send over 6,000 views in 24 hours. The song is available for download at all the major music platforms where music is sold.
Gather Williams II is the former lead singer and musician for the group “OutFront,” who was signed to Chris Jasper of the world famous Isley Brothers, record label, “Gold City Records,” and is considered one of the early innovators of “contemporary Gospel.”
He attended college on a full music scholarship, holds a Doctorate degree in Sacred Music. Furthermore, while an undergraduate at SIU-C he won a competition, judged by writers in Nashville TN on the famous “Music Row,” an award for “Original Song of the Year” by a college music student. That win sent him to Los Angeles where worked in the industry with artist such as Stevie Wonder, Rance Allen, Peabo Bryson, Fred Hammond and many other well-known artist in various genres.
He also sang on tour with the world famous band “Foreigner” on their hit song “I want to know what love is”. He also wrote for and produced artist who went on to sign a major record deal with famed producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
He began writing and recording at the age of 11 and recorded and self-released his first song at the age of 13. Has gone on to write over 2000 songs as a BMI Writer and Publisher. A phenomenal musician in his own right, he plays guitar, drums and percussion, keyboards, and bass. He has toured throughout the U.S. and abroad, performing in front of thousands of fans! He has recorded 5 Albums.
He has won the Academy of Performing Arts award, he has won the Grand Polemarch award for Kappa Alpha Psi for outstanding achievement in music, and nominated for a Stellar Award while with the group Outfront, for a song he wrote, just to name a few!
GATHER WILLIAMS II founded the independent label, Agape Records Inc.” and “Tru Luv” productions and released a solo cd entitled “A Work in Progress.”
He released “ SO COMMITTED,” a collection of beautiful Love Songs on the Universal/Fontana Label, and gained rave reviews for his writing and wide vocal range. He is a BMI writer and publisher.
Gather penned the International release “I’m Fighting for You,” a song of hope and inspiration to aid in the fight to combat Human Trafficking in 2011. The song was released all over the world. In 2015 he had one of the top songs in South Africa, called “Trying to Let go” His last release, “The Precious things in Life” was releases in 2018, and still gets a lot of streams on all the major platforms.
