Tina Boonstra Releasing Latest Single 'Talk It Over'
Tina Boonstra releases her latest single 'Talk It Over' on 24th July 2020. 'Talk it Over' is the third single from Tina's latest EP 'City of Doubt' which will be released this summer. Uninhibited and uncontrived, 'Talk It Over' is a pure and earnest celebration of friendship at it’s best.
"In a world that praises independence and self-reliance, I guess I fall short. I need my friends. The real ones. The ones who are there when it’s good, the ones who’ll call you out when you’re acting weird, the ones who know you’re not okay, even when you say that you are. There aren’t many of those in the world, but the ones we have are pretty special and it’s never been more evident to me, than in this period of isolation.
This song isn’t about having loads of friends, it’s about going deep. Committing to the kind of friendships that can speak into your life, challenge you and champion you. Celebrate your successes and remind you of who you really are when you’ve lost your way. And most importantly, singalong like a crazy person to your new song over a Zoom call."
The music video was made with the help of fans from around the world, spanning Brazil, Canada, US, Germany and the UK, all of whom were sick of zoom calls but happy to dance and sing along like maniacs, cause that’s what friends do.
As a songwriter in a missionary family, Tina expected her songs to find their home in the church halls she grew up in. But it wasn’t until she began performing on the London open mic circuit that she cut her teeth as a performer and honed her craft into a treasure trove of songs with a depth and emotional intensity reminiscent of PJ Harvey, Wolf Alice and John Mark McMillan.
