Live Forever is Matthew West’s seventh studio album and third album where he writes songs inspired from true stories that fans have sent in to him.

Stylistically this album has moved forwards from Matthew’s previous albums. Stylistically this album has moved forwards from Matthew’s previous albums. This album sounds and feels a bit more ‘rocky’, more ‘anthemy’ and style wise is a bit less clean cut than previous albums, though his previous album Into The Light seemed to be pushing towards this style. I do like Matthew’s previous ‘cut back’ style, and he does have a strong voice which doesn’t need to be hidden in the track and there are also those style of songs on this album too. The great thing is that no track sounds the same, some have a live band feeling, some as said have a ‘cut back’ feel, some are rocky, some ‘anthemy’ and with this ‘different’ mixed album style it will appeal to a wider audience. The songs flow well together and the album sounds brilliant.

This album is loaded jam packed with super faith building positive lyrics, upbeat and catchy songs and to be honest it is hard to pick favourite track as there are so many brilliant songs. As said lyrically this is a strong album with lyrics that speak about peoples real life issues and situations, lyrics that bring comfort and uplift, to build faith and encourage. ‘The List’ tells the listener to “Write 'em down one by one, Every single mistake that you've ever made, Every single wrong turn you wish you didn't take” and has the response to this list “Love tears the list in million little pieces

Cast your sins as far as the East is from the West, Say goodbye to the list” because “Love keeps no record of wrong” the message being that Jesus can deal with your mistakes and sins because He died for you. There seems to be a theme of grace running through this album as it continues with the song ‘Grace Wins’ with the lyrics “No more lying down in death's defeat, Now I'm rising up in victory, Singing hallelujah, Grace wins every time.” If you know someone going through a rough time, or needs some encouragement, perhaps give them a copy of this album, it might open the door for them to ask you about Jesus.

Overall this is another strong album from Matthew West and will I'm sure be another hit. I believe that God has blessed Matthew with this gift of songwriting and you can see why, I know that God will use many of these songs to minister to and help many people, and being based upon true life stories will have a big impact.
