Dallas born singer/songwriter Jordan Whitmore has launched a side project called EUFAULA, the middle name that she inherited from her great grandmother. 'I Shall Not Be Shaken' starts with just an acoustic guitar to accompany Jordan's country-style vocals, before a simple drum beat and pleasingly toned electric guitar join in. This slow to mid tempo music provides space for the lyrics of hope to sink in. 'Praise The Name of the Lord' has a similar sound, and there's something very comforting about the style of music here. With effortless vocals and an echoing guitar sound that conspire to soothe the listener's ear.

The reflective and prayerful 'You Keep My Life' is an early highlight on this album, with a moving piano sound and well organised guitars and percussion. Jordan's vocals are perhaps at their most beautiful during 'Who Is Great', with a gentle male backing vocal adding further depth. Then there's musicianship that really shines out with it's unobtrusive strength on tracks like 'My Mountain'. The music is never allowed to overpower these songs, but is perfectly crafted to provide a foundation that lifts the songs to new heights.

'I Am Loved' quickly became the standout track for me, with yet another brilliant vocal delivery of these apprecitive lyrics and stunning blend of guitars and keyboards. "I am loved, neither death nor life will keep me, from your Love, I am Loved by You." I love the electric guitar sound on 'Faithful to Me' and the emotion in Jordan's voice as she thanks God for His faithfullnes.

'Christ My Strength' is another example of how that rich and emotion-filled voice needs very little in the way of musical accompaniment. The musicians do make a quiet appearance on this track, but it's not until the second half of the song that they are fully noticeable as they provide a warm misty feel in the background. More prominent is the piano backing to 'There Is A Day' which lends a ballad feel to this lovely song. As it progresses, the whole band really come together brilliantly to lift the song to a whole new level. The album ends with 'Beautiful Exchange', which despite its title is not a cover of the Hillsong track, but instead is a final beautiful gem of a song full of exquisite music and vocals that combine in such a delightful manner that you will be urging it not to end.

There is an acoustic feel throughout this gentle worship album - these are not big anthem rousing rock tracks, they are reflective, worshipful and intimate songs looking at a God who is ever present in our lives. This is sophisticated, elegant and highly satisfying music that is an absolute pleasure to listen to. It truly is a thing of great beauty.
