I'm always looking for new music. I spend time looking for the latest releases on the internet and sometimes I end up finding nothing. Then other times I unearth something new and fresh. That is what I found with the amazing Level 3:16.
From reading about the band you get a sense they are on a mission to answer the call of Scripture by using their God-given talents for the purpose of promoting the gospel as urban missionaries. New group Level 3:16 enter the scene focused and determined as musicianaries (music-missionaries).

To try and explain what Level 3:16 sound like, I would have to say they mix Hip Hop, R&B and urban Gospel to create their unique sound. Level 3:16 are made up of two male emcees, three female vocalist and one female DJ.
The self titled album, Level 3:16 is full of hard-hitting beats yet at the same time has some great three way harmonies and clever honest lyrics pouring out of the songs. This comes out during the songs Know Him and Crazy, in my opinion two of the standout tracks of the album.
There are many great songs on this 12 track album, each different to the other, to keep the album fresh and moving. I love the opening orchestral start to Via with it's opening prayer that leads into a chorus of "I want to go, You want to take, I want to be", this is a great start to the album. But the truly standout track from the album has to be the thought provoking Total Submission which is one song not to be missed.
Level 3:16 are an exciting band who I'm sure will inspire people with their strong lyrics and Hip Hop sounds. If you're looking for a new fresh hard hitting band, Level 3:16 might be a band worth checking out, their self titled debut album is a great start for Hip Hop in 2011.
