One of the best known British worship leaders, Matt Redman is about to release probably one of his most anticipated albums. 10,000 Reasons is Matt's eight album and features 11 all-new songs recorded live in front of over 1,000 worship leaders during the 'Lift' worship leader conference put on by Passion City Church in Atlanta, Georgia in February. Matt's co-writers on the album include Chris Tomlin, Matt Maher, Jason Ingram, Jonas Myrin, Tim Wanstall and Jesse Reeves.

"There's something that happens in the worshipping, singing church that you don't find anywhere else on the face of the earth", says Matt of the live recording. "I hope people end up hearing that on the album; it hopefully gives some life to the songs". It will not be long now until this album is released, but if you can't wait until then, Matt has kindly released a song from the album as a single. Never Once is our first taste of what Matt has to offer on this new album.
The song starts with a very distinctive Matt Redman vocal pushed together with a beautifully played piano part and acoustic guitar. The main meaning of this songs comes out during the lyrics of the chorus. The song talks about God being with us in our struggles, even in the biggest pains that the world, and life, can throw at us, God has never left our side, He is always faithful. Matt sings "Never once, did we ever walk alone, Never once did you leave us on our own, You are faithful, God you are faithful". A brilliant chorus and one I'm sure will be sung in the local churches for years to come. What started off as a slow piano led song, turns into a wall of chaotic worshipful noise, with a massive guitar solo exploding as the song heads towards its end.
This is a very powerful hands up in the air praise song to God, with wonderful lyrics, a catchy chorus and Matt Redman at his best. I'm looking forward to the album release in the next few months if the sound of this track is anything to go by. I for one can't wait to hear the next selection of Matt Redman songs that we can use in times of worship. Amen.
