The blues and gospel inspiration that Eric grew up on is apparent from the start. Funky Gospel, upbeat, joyful, and soulful are a few words to explain this album. These sounds and styles play a massive part of where we got to today with this release. I have to admit the album grew on me so much, the more I got into the album, the more I enjoyed and the more I wanted to listen.
I must add that the vocal delivery of Eric on 'Deliver Us From Evil' is truly epic as are the vocals and harmonies on 'Open My Eyes', the latter being a real powerful heart wrenching song that is sung amazingly. Eric really has a stunning voice that is brilliant to listen to.
I love the sound and style of the title track, as it’s actually so different to anything else on the album and in many ways doesn’t fully fit the album, but at the same time it keeps the album moving forward. Other highlights are the songs 'You’ll Work It All Together' and 'High Priest'. I loved them.
If you like gospel and blues music then this album is well worth looking out for.
