The Very Best of Gareth Robinson is the greatest hits of British worship leader Gareth Robinson. This album is a double CD consisting of thirty songs from the previous releases of Gareth's album. Over the years Gareth has recorded the albums You Alone in 2003, Be Glorified in 2005 and You Make Everything Work Out, which was released in 2008. As this album is thirty tracks long and takes material from three of Gareth's albums, the majority of the songs from those albums appear on this 'Best Of'.

As I'm sure I have said before, writing a review for a Greatest Hits isn't easy as the track listing isn't usually set up for the album to flow easily, and the same can be said for this collection. The styles of songs from older albums and newer albums don't always sit next to each other easily. Looking away from all of that and at each track individually, it's easy to see why Gareth is well known as a great songwriter.
This guy writes songs for the church, offering his gifted talent to write songs of praise to God for anybody and everybody to use on a Sunday praise celebration. The majority of the album is Brit Rock, with heavier slightly distorted guitars ringing throughout, this is the main style of the whole album. Songs like Good & Gracious and All Of Me show the Brit Rock worship sound off in abundance. Opening tracks Clap Your Hands and Jesus You Humbled Yourself have a little hint of an electro rock sound coming out, these are a nice fresh start to CD 1. Both CDs end with two very beautiful ballads, the closing track of His Wounds is a stunning song and shows that as well as writing great Rock Worship songs, Gareth can strip things back to a sensitive hymn feel that is stirring and worshipful.
For me personally I thought this album was too long, I would have rather seen this made into a one disc 'Best Of' album, chopping down the number of tracks and cramming them onto one CD. If you haven't got any of Gareth's album and like what you hear then this double album is the perfect complete collection of the songs that Gareth Robinson has written for the church to be used as a tool for worship to God.
