It has always been the role of art to ask questions of the establishment, and 'Borderless' doesn’t shy away from this duty. "This song is a protest against tribalism, and those that would seek to divide us up" Tom reflects, "What if we choose not to accept those borders and the walls that have been put up between us. Whether you take these words literally or figuratively, I believe that our hope can be found in unity."

As a theme and a topic, Tom has really decided to go for it. I have to admit not many artists would approach a topic like this, in this way. Tom here really doesn’t hold back. It’s a theme about being as one and not letting borders separate us. This is a theme that’s so apt right now, but what I love most about it is that the answer that can be complicated but also can be really easy at the same time. I don't profess to be a clever enough human to explain the in's and out's over all this, and how the world works, what I do know is that music break down walls.

Tom Read is a talent, a brilliant talent and this song gives another platform to show the world this quality. If you look at this as just another song you would say this is a great song but I would hazard a guess you will have missed the importance of the song. From a musical perspective once you add Tom's vocals and his musicianship and his quality of production, then you have an epic single - yet adding the musicianship, the power, the theme and everything else you really do have something special here from Mr Read. This only brings into fact that the album is going to be epic.
