British self-produced worshiper Seth Jeffery, who now lives in Portugal and writes music as a continuing journal of his life, has just released his latest self-published album 'Between the Sea and the Shore'.
Let’s start with something we all take for granted, great artwork. There is something very uplifting about this album's cover. Now do me a massive favour - look at the cover while listening to opening track 'Dawn Chorus' and I guarantee you that you will be washed away into a different place.

Let’s start with something we all take for granted, great artwork. There is something very uplifting about this album's cover. Now do me a massive favour - look at the cover while listening to opening track 'Dawn Chorus' and I guarantee you that you will be washed away into a different place.
Now once the album really gets going we see that Seth takes a leaf out of the Redman, Hughes & Tomlin school of song-writing, not on all of the songs but on several. Actually that is a little bit unfair to label Seth like that, as when you hear a song like 'Baptise Me' you can hear that he has produced something totally different. What jumped out to me about that song was that it could have been easily written, melodically and musically, by Ed Sheeran.
The more I listen the more I realise this album doesn’t just settle for one style or feel (maybe vibe is the correct word). One moment you think you have worked out this album musically, and then a curve ball gets thrown at you in the mix, like with the dramatic tracks 'Cloud By Day' and 'Holy Holy Ghost'.
That is what I found most interesting about this release, it hasn’t just been written as a worship album copy book. Look at it this way, there are even pan pipes on the song 'Daniels Prayers Room', not everyone would attempt pan pipes on an album. What Seth has here are songs that you can tell are from him, and where he is at with his relationship with God.
