Following the release of their debut single ‘Whisper’ in January, Luke Wareham and Rachel Mason have released their first 5 track studio EP ‘Whisper’ Luke and Rachel are worship leaders and songwriters based in the South West of the UK.

They have a passion for writing songs that lead people into the presence of God, that help people fix their eyes on Jesus and to experience afresh the healing power of the Holy Spirit. They have worked with their good friend Ollie Morris on the EP, a songwriter, producer and worship leader based in Bristol.

They have a passion for writing songs that lead people into the presence of God, that help people fix their eyes on Jesus and to experience afresh the healing power of the Holy Spirit. They have worked with their good friend Ollie Morris on the EP, a songwriter, producer and worship leader based in Bristol.

Opening track 'Shadows' kicks the EP into life with it's high tempo guitars and drums, it reminds me of something that Snow Patrol would record, it's a great way to start any EP. There is something about 'Fa,ithful Friend' that really spoke to me, and that's what good songs do, impact the listener.

The title track of the EP 'Whisper' is the big song of the EP. The song starts with a very hushed and intimate worship sound and feel, which continues throughout the whole of the song. It is a song that is set up perfectly for people to worship with in the local church. The EP is full of tracks for the local church, each song is about the relationship we have with God, which I can imagine worshippers really getting into and picking up quickly in their own church.

The haunting sounds on 'Hearing Hearts' is beautiful, this intimate track really shows the world the vocals of Rachel Mason. Her voice washes over the song beautifully - she has this lovely voice that is so easy to listen to. Some songs have just Luke singing, some songs have Rachel singing, but there are some that have both singing and as a unit they work so well together. 'Mirror Your Glory' sounds a little bit like the Killers, the newer Killers sound, lots of synths and atmospheric chords.

Altogether this is a solid EP with a bunch of tracks ready for the local church. The heart of Luke & Rachel is for writing songs that lead people into the presence of God, that help people fix their eyes on Jesus and to experience afresh the healing power of the Holy Spirit. Their prayer is that their songs will bring hope to a broken world speaking prophetically the truth of Jesus into everyday life situations, this EP does that.
