It wasn't too long ago that I reviewed this track when it was released just as a TobyMac release, I enjoyed the track and in my review I said "this song captured me, it made me think, but I also just enjoyed it as a great song that is searching and reminding us that Jesus is our Promised Land." After listening to this new version, my view of the song hasn't changed in many ways.
You will not be surprised to hear me say that this is still a great song, but there is definitely an added Sheryl Crow musical level, with her distinctive guitars and brilliant vocal talent she has kind of made this tender song, that asks questions, sound even more tender yet completely upbeat and different all at the same time!
To conclude, I loved the solo version of Promised Land, and I love this new version, but different and the same all at the same time!
