Phatfish are back after their last two albums, greatest hits CD "15" and "Guaranteed" which was a great album and flowed well but you felt something was missing. But Phatfish are back with their latest offering "In Jesus". With two new members in Ben Hall & Jos Wintermeyer, would this be a new sound for Phatfish or an album of songs in the same style that we have come to know from Phatfish?

The album starts off with In Jesus which was a free download from the bands website to help promote the album. In Jesus is very much a Phatfish sounding song. The band have not lost their rock pop style. Having Jos Wintermeyer and Ben Hall join the band has at times made a big difference on the album, especially on "To The Praise of Your Glory", making the songs sound fuller with a few different guitar sounds going on. But what comes across most on this album is a sense that you can feel and hear the band really enjoying playing and recording together.
Lyrically this album is creative yet down to the point and all the songs talk about the love of Jesus and our love for Him. Musically you wouldn't expect anything but the best from this band and thankfully they really have got the best out of each band member. I still feel that vocally Lou Fellingham's vocals are best suited on the ballad songs, which come out during the album closer "God You Are My God" and "If I Have Not Love".
If you love Phatfish the album adds a new layer to the Phatfish collection with its musical progression that follows in the nature of the previous 15 years of Phatfish. Yet the style of the music is still pop-rock and as such if you like those kind of sounds with heavy production then you will love this album.
