Life hasn't always been easy for Jess, but her music has been one of the things that has really helped her through the tough times. In the last few years she has fought and won some difficult battles - including recovery from Bulimia, self harm, depression and anxiety - and now she wants to use her songs to inspire others who are going through tough times themselves.
In 2014, Jess performed at Sheffield's O2 Academy, as a support act for Philippa Hanna. Philippa has played a big role in the development of Jess' music, and she has encouraged and supported her along her journey. Jess wrote Someone Else's War alongside Philippa.
In the last 6 months Jess has supported The Gentlemen and also appeared at the Manor Farm Music Festival near Southport. This year, she has also performed at an eating disorder unit to really inspire and encourage the girls there through their journeys.
Someone Else's War has been a real success. The single was featured on BBC Introducing, BBC Sheffield, Louder Than the Music, in the local newspaper, and has also been distributed as far as Japan.
