Lane said: "I heard a song right when lockdown started called "I Wrote This Down", by the band Limbeck. I wanted to try to capture that same spirit in this song, which I consider a goodbye letter to the campuses, relationships, and friends that I'll never see again. I've lost fellow artists, local legends, and fans. This is a nostalgic look back at a past that simply doesn't exist any more, and reckoning with that reality."
