The song was recorded with co-producer and engineer/instrumentalist Zeke Bernal in Visalia, CA. Drums were performed by Jacob Arnold (Passion, Elevation Worship), with final mix and master provided by Sam Hart (Aaron Shust, Paul Wright).
For Leckenby, the purpose and message of the song is simple. "Whether you are on the mountaintop of life or you're in the valley going through life's toughest losses, you have a promise," he shared. "If your promise and your purpose is the resurrection of Jesus Christ, you can truly sing the words 'death can't touch me now.' That is the eternal promise Jesus gives, and that is what this song is about."
John Leckenby serves as Worship and Creative Arts Pastor at Northwest Church in Fresno, CA. In addition to sharing and singing 'Promise', he plans to release more music in the near future, having recently recorded demos for a new song in the making.
