Sarah Teibo Talks Racism In The Church, Releases New EP 'Victory'

Mar 21 2021

Hope is on the horizon with UK easing out of an almost year-long Lockdown in the coming months.

As people all over the world get ready to celebrate these exciting new developments alongside Easter holidays, singer Sarah Téibo drops an aptly titled EP - ‘Victory’ - on 2nd April. The 4-track project with 2 brand new songs from the London-based worship leader is jointly produced by Goziam Okogwu and Chuks Chiejine (of platinum record ‘Sugar’ by Brockhampton).

‘Victory’, the title track of the project is an upbeat techno inspired number with a soulful Gospel touch and features Lou Fellingham, Zahyón from The Voice UK and Tom Endersby. It is the perfect soundtrack to the season, as we spring out of Lockdown and into more hopeful and colourful times.

The song is a reminder that we triumph together when we put our trust in the truth of who God is and what He declares in His many promises to us.

On her hopes for the EP, Sarah says “The release of ‘Victory’ comes just off the back of ‘Stronger Together’ - an online panel I’m facilitating all through March on Race Relations within the Christian community. These very interactive sessions have been extremely insightful and revealing of the many areas where the Church seems to be failing in areas of Equality, Integration and Social Justice. They have also helped shine the light on practical initiatives the Church and Christian community can adopt to bring lasting change. I’m hoping the release of this song as a follow-on to these much needed conversations helps highlight the beauty in our diversity and the strength in our unity when we stand together on God’s promises and learn to love like Him.”

To catch the upcoming episodes or watch past livestreams of ‘Stronger Together’ which features the likes of stand-up comedian turned Church of England priest Rev David Peterson, Worship Leader Noel Robinson, music A&R Manager Les Moir and American singer Leon Timbo, go to Sarah Téibo’s Facebook IGTV or YouTube channels.

The EP ‘Victory’ will be available for preorder on all platforms from 26th March and for streaming and download from Good Friday 2nd April.
