Interview: Zack Landry
Earlier this year NOLA award winning Gospel artist Zack Landry released his single, 'Hold On'. Louder Than The Music caught up with this singer/songwriter to find out more about his music, the story behind his song, and his plans to record a new live album this year.
For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?
My name is Zack Landry and I am an independent artist from Vacherie, La by way of New Orleans, La. I have been a musician and a singer since I was a little boy. I grew up in church around musicians and singers. I have been an artist since the year of 2015. I started a singing group in 2009 named PhaZe which ended in 2017.
Tell us about your new single 'Hold On' and what the inspiration behind it was?
Hold On was written in 2009 as a worship ballad until a few years ago, I decided to make some adjustments by adding a groove, and some verses. This song is based off my personal life as well as a personal testimony that i wanted to encourage people with.
When can people expect to hear more new music from you?
In 2021 I will be doing my Live Album Recording.
What message would you like people to take from your music?
Encouragement, Inspiration, Confidence
How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?
My style of course is very contemporary, but with so many styles, twists, as well as inspiration from other artists.
If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?
Kirk Franklin because he is an innovator, motivator, and messenger through his music He has broken several barriers in the music industry.
How would you define success in your career as an artist?
Reaching millions across the nations. Having millions across the nations being inspired by your music.
