Our Atlantic Roots To Release First Christmas Single 'Light All The Lanterns'
Our Atlantic Roots are excited to announce the release of their first Christmas single, ‘Light All The Lanterns.’ With over 3 million streams under their belts, a dedicated fanbase and growing library of very well produced and well received music, this first Christmas track feels like something that has been much anticipated.
The song is a modern-day Christmas carol that is both entirely fresh but also carries the cosy nostalgic feeling that we all love to feel when we listen to music at this time of year. The production is cinematic, emotive, and built around an array of traditional instrumentation often heard in British and American folk music, but with a special nod to Christmas, with the subtle use of bells, seasonal percussion, and choral backing vocals.
“Light All The Lanterns is a song that draws our attention from the overwhelming, commercial aspects of Christmas, back to the heart and hope of the season - Emmanuel, God With Us. As we were writing the lyrics, we were reflecting not only on what Christmas means to us, but also what is has meant to the generations before us. We were particularly impacted by the story of the 1914 Christmas truce in WW1 and how even in one of the darkest moments in our history, something about the message of Christmas brought a moment of light in the darkness of the trenches. We hope that above all, Light All The Lanterns, carries the true hope of Christmas to all those who hear it.”
