David Phelps Kicks Off 'The Voice European Tour'

Jun 11 2010

American singer/songwriter David Phelps kicked off the UK leg of his 'The Voice European Tour' last night at Belfast's Ulster Hall. The tour continues in Edinburgh on 12th June, London (City Temple) on 13th June and Newcastle on 15th June.

David has already performed in Norway and will conclude the European tour with further dates in Holland, Romania and Sweden. Writing on his blog, the vocalist revealed that the tour very nearly didn't go ahead after he was diagnosed with an infected vocal cord two days before being due to fly out to begin the European tour. "On Friday before the first concert I went to a vocal doctor in Norway", explains David. "He was very helpful and so kind. I’m happy to report that I haven’t had to cancel any concerts! And, I’m getting better every day. This was such an answer to prayer for all of us. We’ve been looking forward to this for a long time."

In 2008 David released his latest studio album 'The Voice'. Last year he also released a 'Best Of' album, and is planning a live video version for the Spring of 2011. In addition to being a solo singer, David is also a member of the Grammy award winning Gospel group Gaither Vocal Band where he sings as a tenor.
