Forrest Means Releases 'Souled Up' Album

Multi-genre trumpeter and composer Forrest Means has released his multi-genre 'Souled Up' album. Genres include Cajun, Hip Hop, Jazz, Funk, and Salsa.


Forrest Means has played across the world and alongside renowned artists such as The Temptations, the Four Tops, 10,000 Maniacs, and the Cool City Jazz Band. A Colorado native, he was one of the original band members with Chris Daniels and the Kings as the trumpeter. They performed across Europe in festivals and throughout the US. The band recorded numerous CDs, appeared on Nashville Now, and recorded an award-winning NY music video. In 1992, they were the featured cover story for Performance Magazine. Chris Daniels and the Kings recorded with legends Sonny Landreth, Bill Payne, Sam Bush, Bela Fleck and Al Kooper. After moving from Denver, Forrest studied at Indiana University and played Lead in David Baker’s Jazz band. In 2020 he played trumpet on Ernie Pyle-Life in the Trenches documentary. Recently he was honored to play trumpet on the Major Taylor Champion of the Race documentary.
