Not Guilty Anymore by Aaron Keyes was originally released in 2007 and has now been re-released to the public again. The album was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studio with producer John Hartley. Aaron invited some well known friends down to help write on the album, he invited legends like Stuart Townend, Paul Oakley and Steve Hindalong to help write the tracks.

When you listen to the album you know from the word go this album is in the guitar worship rock genre, yet when you get to the song Psalm 62, the track has a modern hymn feel, which was a different style compared to the previous first two tracks. You can immediately hear the influences of Stuart Townend who co-wrote the track with Aaron bursting through. Psalm 62 is a good track, yet doesn’t seem to fully fit the pattern of the album though at the same time is a welcome change of direction for a small part of the album.
These songs are honest and well written, with stunning strong vocals from the singer/songwriter. There are some amazing standout tracks on this album, Blessing and Honor is an amazing beautiful song, Like Jesus will have you rocking with its heavy pop guitar work and many many others.
But the most stunning moments of the album come in the ballads and quieter songs, Aaron seems to really know how to write songs that can be intimate and true. The amazing title track Not Guilty Anymore is sung with charm and integrity, it really spoke to me, it was one of the songs that really touched my heart and took me to a wonderful place of worship, it seems to tick all the boxes of a great song. There are other tracks in the same vain as Not Guilty Anymore, for example Where Are You Now and Help Me Lord, are both songs which are sung with passion and honest emotion.
I am glad this album got a re-release or I may have never of had the opportunity to hear some of these great songs. If I have to leave you with one comment about this album, it would have to be, go and listen to the last track Not What My Hands, another gem from this album, stunning song.
